Island old believer estate-museum "Kvakenburg"
Novelty of 2013, is located in the Danube Delta on the nearby Ochakovskiy Island down the Ankudinovo Branch. Only here you can visit restored Old Believers' (“lipovan”) house in which recreated a traditional interior. There are stands, describing the history of the delta, the tradition of the Old Believers, wine and local beekeeping activities, information about Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve. The museum also includes open-air exposure (boat workshop, fishing gear, delta winemaking and beekeeping), picturesque old garden, wooden bridges, reed picnic-pavilions, local cook-house, well-equipped comfortable restarea near the waterfront with the garden benches and beach chaise-longues, berth, etc. It is specialize on the service for week-end group’s tours.
